Battalion Chief

Kirk applied for the Battalion Chief Position at the fire station and he got it. He is now in charge of training for the district.

Grandma and Grandpa come home!

On December 16 Grandma and Grandpa Arnold came home from their mission to France. We all went out to the airport to meet them and then back to their house to visit. Later that night we went with them to have them released and then we all went out to dinner. It is so nice to have them home again.

Oh, poor Christmas tree

Our poor Christmas tree didn't last a week before the cat knocked it over.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

O' lovely Christmas tree we hope you can stand through the season!

The trees are up but how long will they stand. I think the kitty will help make that decision.

Time with Cousins

Our kids love to spend time with their cousins. What do they do with their cousins, well take a look.

Oh, how time flies

Things have been busy for us as we've moved through the month of October. Jessie, Kirk and I celebrated yet another birthday. Jessie has now moved into MiaMaids and is gearing up for her cheerleading competition that will be the first two weeks in December. Josh is working and enjoying having some spending money. Josh has been teaching Daniel to skateboard and Daniel is loving it.

Megan is reading more and more. She loves the Dr. Seuss books. Kirk has been busy as temporary lieutenant at the fire station. He loves his work and hopes to be part of making NTCFD the best it can be. Kirk has also been working on the basement. Mud and tape. Mud and more mud. Yeah! I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been busy being a mom, doing genealogy(love the new family search), driving the kids here and there, spending quality time with family and serving in my newest calling. I love my calling and I am really enjoying getting to know the sisters in my ward.

November brought a broken freezer but luckily we were able to replace it before losing any meat. We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent Wednesday with my family and Thursday with Kirk's family. Oh, how blessed we are to have what we have and to have such great families. We are looking forward to welcoming Grandma and Grandpa Arnold home from their mission in 2 short weeks. We are grateful to their almost 2 years of service to the people in France. We love you Grandma and Grandpa.

Family Home Evening Fun

For Family Home Evening last week we had backwards night. We had ice cream sandwiches and then headed off to ride horses. After riding til dark we headed home for dinner. The kids really enjoyed themselves and would love to go again. What a great evening.
Josh got the horse running a couple of times. We all laughed as he bounced up and down.

Jessie was a bit afraid of the horses at first but once she started riding she loved it. She kept asking for a pony for the rest of the night.

Daniel loved to get the horse moving and was laughing the whole time.

Megan loved riding. We all had a good laugh when the horse she was riding kept heading for food.
I took a quick ride too but didn't get any good pictures.

Jessica loves to cheer

Jessie is learning to be a cheer leader along with several of her friends. She loves it.

Jessica's squad at their first official game.

Swim Lessons

Megan and Daniel attended swimming lessons again this year. They both really love going off the diving board.

They really enjoyed lessons this year because their cousins joined them.

20th Wedding Anniversary

Kirk and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on August 4. It's hard to believe it has been 20 years. So many things have happened over the years. Some great things and some not so great. Life has felt like a roller coaster at times so to celebrate we spent the day at Lagoon enjoying the roller coaster, water and other rides. Later we headed off to dinner and a movie. What a great day!

Daniel's Birthday

On Daniel's Birthday we spent the day at Lagoon. We had a great time at Lagoona Beach. The kids especially loved the water slide that had pools in between each section of slide. We ate sandwiches at Subway per Daniel's request then spent the evening enjoying the rides.

One of our favorite rides. Can you guess what it is?

Where are we now?

Life can change in the blink of an eye

These 2 incidents really made me stop and think about life and how precious it is. Just one bad decision or one little mistake can have lasting consequences and can affect so many lives. May we all enjoy life to its fullest and enjoy our families and friends each and every day.

Fire Fighter Training

On Tuesday the fire dept. had training and learned about AirMed. I took the kids over and we watched the helicopter take off. I'm so grateful for those who work so hard to keep us safe and are there to help when things go wrong.

4th of July with the family

For the 4th of July we went over to Kirk's sisters house. We had a BBQ, made Mormon Mojito's and of course the kids had to let off some fire works.

Children's Museum Trip

Megan had fun dressing up.

Daniel made a car out of magnets.

Daniel and Megan had fun climbing the rock wall.

Daniel is going to be just like his dad some day.
